An Intimate Fall Wedding in St. Louis
Today’s feature is an intimate, quintessentially fall wedding filled with personal touches at every turn! Jennifer and Craig chose to host the celebration at their home, which served as the perfect setting for a wedding that not only brought two people together, but two families. The couple’s four children were included in every aspect of the day, from walking their parents down the aisle to designing the cake!
Jennifer worked with Simcha’s Events to develop her fall wedding vision, incorporating deep jewel tones, wood elements and lots of autumn details like mums and pumpkins. When it came to the flowers, Jennifer had a specific look in mind; structured designs with interesting textures in warm fall tones. Lisa spent a lot of time selecting just the right flowers, colors and textures to achieve this vision, and the final designs were the perfect compliment for this outdoor fall wedding.
Jennifer and her ladies in waiting carried structured bouquets of burgundy peonies, berries, waxflower, ranunculus, eryngium, spray roses, Magnolia leaves and other greenery. Since the ladies were all in different colored dresses, we wanted the flowers to tie the look together. The little girls carried similarly structured bouquets, but without the yellow accents so as not to clash with their floral dresses (how cute are those three?!)
The ceremony took place in the front yard with lanterns and floral lining the front walk to the house, which served as the perfect backdrop. Guests were greeted with mugs of warm cider and festive plaid blankets, perfect for cuddling up on the wood benches from Exclusive Events.
Following the ceremony, guests moved to the backyard for cocktail hour and yard games. Instead of traditional place cards, M. Haley Designs created amazing custom Christmas tree decorations featuring a wood burn of the house - guests table assignments were on removable cards on the back, so they could each take home a memento of the day.
Continuing the family theme, Butler’s Pantry created an appetizer menu featuring each family member’s favorites, including toasted ravioli, sushi and “Seamus McDaniel’s” nachos! The adorable labeled pumpkins indicated which family member chose the passed hors d'oeuvres.
Inside the dinner tent, geo lighting and a mix of long and square farm tables greeted guests. We used the same colors, textures and structured floral designs on the guest tables, alternating between tall arrangements and long garlands with flowers and pumpkins tucked throughout. Jennifer and Craig sat at a sweetheart table adorned with a lush arrangement and accented with lanterns. Navy blue napkins added a pop to the place settings, and complimented the thank you notes at each guest’s place. Despite the chilly evening, the tent provided a warm, welcoming atmosphere for this love-filled celebration!
Jennifer and Craig, thank you for letting us be a part of this amazing day and for entrusting us with your vision! Happy (slightly belated) first anniversary!!
